What to do With Your Valentine’s Roses

Rose Milk Bath Just for You

Roses are a beautiful symbol of love and adoration.  They offer up a sense of purity and joy like no other flower.  But what do you do with those roses you get for Valentine’s Day from your beloved or a gift you’ve given yourself?

Whether you are in a loving relationship or not this year, set the sankalpa, divine intention, to be both the giver and receiver of an abundance of love with this ancient ritual. You’ll feel  sweet, sexy, purified, juicy, luscious and simply dripping in love.

How about indulging in a hot bath filled with rose petals, lime and milk?  So sweet and so luscious!

Milk baths go back centuries and have been used by women to nourish and improve your skin! The lactic acid in milk is an alpha hydroxy acid, which helps cleanse the skin and release dead skin cells. (*Please note: When choosing the dried milk, go with the high fat version. The higher the fat content of the milk, the more nourishing it is for your skin.  Low fat milk just isn’t the best choice here.)

Add corn starch and baking soda to power up the skin-softening effect and give the bathwater a silky feel.  These ingredients are also great for soothing itchy skin.

Lime is a lovely addition that is known for its beneficial effects on the skin.  It is rich in powerful antioxidants like Vitamin C, citric acid and flavonoids.  It can improve the appearance of dark spots, acne and blemishes.  it also has anti-aging properties and leaves skin with a glowing complexion.

Rose Milk Bath Recipe

Ingredients

2 cups Powdered Milk

1/2 cup Baking Soda

1/4 cup Cornstarch

Petals from 1-3 Roses

1 Lime Sliced (optional)

Time to Lavish Yourself in Sensual Self-Care

Start by combining the powdered milk, baking soda and cornstarch in a jar.  Shake it up to combine well.

Light your candles and set the mood with some of your favorite music.  Add rose petals and lime to the tub and run the hot water.  Let the roses and limes steep for a few minutes before adding the dry ingredients. Use half of the dry ingredients and enjoy another bath in the near future or use it all for an extra dreamy effect. Mix it all in as the tub fills.

Enjoy a heart-warming beverage while you relax in your own personal spa for at least 20 mintues. Let yourself relax and embrace the love that surrounds you here in the tub and in so many aspects of your life.  Experience the soothing, creamy, loving effects of this ancient self-care ritual.
