Whether you are looking to deepen your own practice, or you are eager to teach and share the gift of yoga with others, Maitri’s Essential Yoga Training program will offer you so much more than a basic yoga education.

Exceeding the standards of the Yoga Alliance 200 hour certification, in the Essential program you will be immersed in 250 hours of yoga wisdom, including asana, pranayama, meditation, and philosophy while still allowing space for your life outside of the classroom. In this program you will find personal growth, healing, exploration, and integration. You will join a community of like-minded yogis. You will find harmony within yourself, and you will be able to teach and live from a steady and open heart with a strong foundation of knowledge and wisdom.

2018 Essential Yoga Teacher Training Schedule

The Essential Yoga Teacher training is a 1 year program. You can choose to start in April or October for 2018. Class is generally held on the 2nd weekend and the last Wednesday evening of each month for a total of 3 days per month (unless otherwise noted). Weekend classes are Saturday and Sunday 10:00-5:30 pm and Wednesday classes are 4:30-8:00 pm. There is also a long weekend retreat each May, and you will enjoy a discount on regular Maitri yoga classes.

Curriculum

While thoroughly covering asana (postures) and learning to teach them is important, Maitri Yoga focuses on learning the depths of yoga while gaining a deeper understanding of the Self. Learning to live and practice what you will be teaching is just as important as offering a nice flow to a yoga class.

E-RYT 500 and founder of Maitri Yoga Centers, has been practicing and teaching yoga since the late 90′s with over 11,000 teaching hours experience. She loves spreading the knowledge and heart of yoga in an accessible way. Her deep love of yoga, Vedanta, and tantra enables her to be straight forward, compassionate, caring, peaceful, dedicated and generous in her life and with her students. By listening to her readers, students and to herself, she is able to apply universal knowledge to practical goals of this world including health, family life and business. She believes in the power of yoga for every person and is skilled at finding the right yoga practices for each individual rather than a student fitting into a particular style of yoga. She is fully committed to being a healing facilitator, teacher, wife, mother and yogini while remaining down to earth and connected to source.

E-RYT 500, Irene believes in the power of the human spirit and the potential to lead a happy and fully expressed life. Through yoga she has found a platform to share this beautiful experience with others. While growing up in NY, Irene studied psychology, massage therapy, Polarity Therapy, Craniosacral Biodynamics, yoga, and ancestral medicine. After moving to CO, she continues to train under her teacher so she may facilitate a safe space for people to explore movement of body and breath with ease of mind and heart. Her style is eclectic having influences from Vinyasa, Kundalini, Iyengar, Forrest and Yoga Nidra teachings. Classes with Irene are filled with intention and Spirit so we can all feel alive and embodied.
