Understanding the great orchestra playing within our physical bodies and how their ability to flow mirrors the ease or dis-ease of our life.
If it is alignment and peace we seek then we need look no further than our own physical anatomy. There are complex systems that flow beneath the surface of our musculoskeletal frame. When these systems are synchronized they flow in a continuous harmony allowing our bodies to function optimally. The ability of these systems and cycles to move smoothly is dependent on many factors such as genetics, injuries and our mental and emotional outlook on life.
As yoga teachers it is of great benefit to understand these systems and cycles so we can better observe and relate to our students. This leads to more effective teaching by leading students down a therapeutic path.
Viewed through a yogic lens we will study systems such as the digestive, circulatory, reproductive, nervous and more along with the incredible cycles of our metabolism and cells. We will then take this knowledge to broaden our ability to understand what might best support our student in a group class or private session.
