Often referred to as a “yogic sleep,” yoga nidra is a deeply restorative practice involving conscious relaxation, pranayama and guided meditation to stimulate our inner transformation. When we move toward joyful growth, we begin to notice the changes within us and it’s energizing! Yoga nidra has many benefits, including greater clarity about who we are and an increased capacity for healing and remaining centered in the midst of stress.

This 10-hour introductory workshop explores fundamental aspects of yoga philosophy at the heart of yoga nidra, providing guidance and experience essential to holding space for students to feel the deep power of resting in awareness. Together, we will:

  • practice “being with” and develop capacity for holding space
  • study verses in the Yoga Sutras that explain the purpose of yoga nidra
  • experience at least 3 yoga nidra sessions as recipients
  • learn the fundamental elements of an effective yoga nidra practice
  • practice speaking with centeredness

At the completion of this training, participants will be able to lead a 10-15 minute yoga nidra experience as part of a longer class.
